Streaking Lookouts nip BayBears

Friday, January 1, 1904

Chris Reed, Luis Vasquez and Yimi Garcia combined to strike out eight while allowing just four hits as Chattanooga won its ninth consecutive game and its second straight by a 1-0 margin on Wednesday night in Mobile, Ala.

Reed worked seven innings and tallied five strikeouts. Mobile starting pitcher Archie Bradley went eight innings but walked three batters in the second inning, including Reed. With two out and the bases loaded, Yasiel Puig drew a walk that scored Reed and gave the Lookouts (25-27) the only run they would need.

Game three of a five-game series in Mobile is tonight at 8:05 EDT.

Andres Santiago (2-5, 5.74) is scheduled to start for the Lookouts, with David Holmberg (1-2, 2.82) scheduled for the BayBears.
