Chattanooga Mocs beat Appalachian State, 35-28

BOONE, N.C. — Nakevion Leslie's interception for a tie-breaking touchdown capped a 35-28 rally for Chattanooga against Appalachian State Saturday.

Leslie intercepted a Kameron Bryant pass and returned it 28 yards into the end zone, completing a 21-point fourth quarter for the Mocs (6-2, 4-1 Southern). A 29-yard pass six minutes earlier from Jacob Huesman to Xavier Borishade had given Chattanooga its first lead of the game at 28-21. Huesman finished with over 100 yards in both passing and rushing and three total touchdowns.

Appalachian St. (2-7, 2-4) took an early lead with a Marcus Cox run for a TD. Cox finished with 158 yards rushing and three touchdowns.

The interception thrown by Bryant was the only turnover for Appalachian St. The Mountaineers got the ball back with 2:52 left on the clock, and drove down the field for 10 plays and 77 yards, ending the game with two incomplete passes.
