NASHVILLE — Baylor defeated Father Ryan 14-10 in a defensive battle Friday night in the final regular-season game for both Division II-AA football teams.
Both defenses were smothering throughout the game, but Father Ryan (6-4, 3-3) ultimately was unable to slow Baylor's running game enough to gain any momentum.
"I thought our defense played well," Father Ryan coach Bruce Lussier said. "[Baylor] had an opportunity to put more points on the board, and we were able to control them [a bit]. But we struggled offensively in the first half, and we just couldn't get anything going, and field position had a lot to do with that."
