Chattanooga area police made 33 DUI arrests during the extended Halloween weekend.
The spooky holiday saw only one DUI arrest on Thursday, but the number increased as the weekend went on. Friday netted nine arrests, Saturday brought in 10 arrests and Sunday saw 13 DUI arrests during the early morning hours.
A majority of the arrests came from the Chattanooga Police Department with 23. The Tennessee Highway Patrol, Hamilton County Sheriff's Department and Red Bank Police Department made the other arrests.
Janice Atkinson, the Hamilton County public information officer, said she was not aware of any checkpoints set up over the weekend. Chattanooga police were unavailable for comment.
