On-site interviews will take place on Wednesday and Thursday from 1-4 p.m. at Convergys, 5600 Brainerd Road. Candidates can also apply online at careers.convergys.com.

Convergys Corp. is adding to its Chattanooga workforce again, offering 100 seasonal jobs for a client in the health care industry.

The call center business declined to name its client, but there's a lot of open enrollment at companies in the health care sector that takes place at the end of the year, said Convergys spokeswoman Brooke Beiting.

She said Convergys will offer "competitive wages" along with a $250 bonus at the end of the work period.

Wendy Matchett, Convergys site leader in Chattanooga, said the company is looking for employees to handle inbound and outbound customer service sales calls.

"Potential employees must have exemplary customer service skills, computer literacy, and some sales experience," she said in a statement.

Earlier this year, Convergys unveiled plans to hire nearly 900 more people in Chattanooga, pushing its head count in Chattanooga to upwards of 1,700 people. Convergys has a 65,000-square-foot operation at Eastgate Town Center.

Matchett said that working at Convergys as a customer service sales representative may be a steppingstone to a career in operations, recruitment, or training.

"In fact, more than 70 percent of Convergys' customer service managers began their careers as agents, and we are known for the internal promotion of our employees," she said.

But, Convergys is competing against other businesses hiring seasonal employees, including many retailers and online giant Amazon. The nation's biggest online retailer is estimated at hiring a couple thousand temporary workers at its Chattanooga and Cleveland, Tenn., distribution centers.
