Elliot Johnson had 25 points and 10 rebounds and freshman Jalen Smith from Rhea County made 6 of 10 3-point shots for 18 points as Tennessee Temple University won 104-81 in men's basketball Monday night at Truett-McConnell.

Hampton Mack scored 15 points and Jarrett Smith had 11 assists and eight rebounds with nine points for the Crusaders (2-0), who trailed 52-47 at halftime. Andretti Loyd scored 24 points and J'qaudeon Williams and Kahill Wynn added 15 apiece for Truett-McConnell's Bears (0-2).

n Tennessee Wesleyan 93, Hiwassee 77: At Madisonville, Tenn., the Bulldogs -- preseason favorites to win the Appalachian Athletic Conference and ranked 20th in NAIA Division II -- leveled their record at 1-1 while dropping the injury-plagued host Tigers to 1-3.

Shannon Smith had 26 points, seven assists and seven steals and Tyler Burse had 25 points and 11 rebounds for Wesleyan, while Andrew Scofield scored 22 points on 5-of-9 3-point shooting and Dante Turnipseed passed for eight assists. Devante' Jenkins added 10 points and eight rebounds.
