The Visual Arts committee of the Athens Area Council for the Arts is hosting "Literary Visions," a juried art competition and exhibition.
The exhibit will be on display in The Willson Exhibit Room and Hall Gallery at The Arts Center at 320 North White St. in Athens, Tenn. from Nov. 7 through Jan. 3.
More than $1,350 in prize money will be awarded at the opening reception and awards ceremony at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 19, at The Arts Center.
The annual competition takes literary inspiration -- a book, a play, a poem -- as its theme.
"Literary Visions" features works from residents of McMinn, Monroe, Meigs, Bradley and Polk counties.
