Adam Wilson knew he'd come back from "Wheel of Fortune" with at least $1,000.

That's the amount given the third-place contestant on the show even if the person hasn't actually won any money.

The Rossville resident did a little better than that, though. He came home with $57,049 in cash and prizes, including a $9,999 trip to the Caribbean island of St. Croix.

Wilson, 33, of Rossville, was on the show Friday night and wound up as the final contestant by finishing the first part of the game show with the highest amount of money - $22,049.

He solved the final puzzle - "Go Ask Your Father" - almost instantly, even though only seven of the letters had been turned around. He got the answer so quickly, host Pat Sajak jokingly asked, "Could you take a little longer?"

An employee of a company that provides wheelchairs to severely disabled people, Wilson told Sajak that he was a major fan of the Dave Matthews Band, having been to 41 of the group's concerts.
