Bahamas police: Small plane crash likely kills 4

NASSAU, Bahamas - Officials in the Bahamas are searching for the bodies of four people, all believed to be U.S. citizens, who apparently died in a small plane crash off the archipelago's northernmost island.

Bahamas Police Superintendent Stephen Dean says a single-engine plane crashed Sunday in waters off Grand Bahama island. He says emergency response teams found plane debris in the Atlantic and the aircraft's four occupants are believed to be dead.

Dean says all on board "are believed to be Americans." He says it appears they were on "some kind of sightseeing tour."

Information about the victims and the plane's make and tail number was not immediately provided by Bahamian authorities.

The small plane took off from Grand Bahama, the archipelago's closest island to Florida.
