Railroad museum plans special events for November

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. - East Tennessee State University's George L. Carter Railroad Museum is planning two special events this month.

On Saturday, the museum marks its sixth anniversary with an exhibit on the history of model trains and guided tours of the scale model of the ET&WNC railroad. Special events for children include a Thomas the Tank Engine Film Fest.

Two weeks later, on Nov. 30, the museum hosts a free Heritage Day. This event will highlight the Norfolk & Western and modern Norfolk Southern railways, from the steam era to the latest heritage locomotives.
