The doors of six homes in downtown Chattanooga and Lookout Valley will open to the public on Saturday, Nov. 16, for the Junior League of Chattanooga's eighth annual Tour du Jour tour of kitchens.

New this year is its holiday theme -- Tour du Jour: A Very Merry Holiday Home Tour -- offering not only a peek at kitchens featuring the latest in culinary design but lovely holiday decorations as well.

According to Ashley Sorrow, event co-chairwoman, tour participants will receive a guidebook, with images by Cansler Photography, outlining each kitchen's design and materials used.

After touring the homes in Black Creek Mountain neighborhood, guests may want to stop in the Black Creek Mountain Clubhouse, 4700 Cummings Cove Drive, to shop the league's Holiday Marketplace.

Autumn Boyd, JLC vice president of communications, says proceeds from the tour will help fund its philanthropic projects such as Seeds of Change, Mini-Grants for Hamilton County Teachers and Kids in the Kitchen.
