JONESBORO, Ga. - Police investigating the shooting death of a 16-year-old girl in her home outside Atlanta have taken a 17-year-old boy into custody.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that the boy was being held in the Clayton County Jail Monday night on charges that include involuntary manslaughter and reckless conduct in the death of V'ondra Olivaria.

Her mother, Yolanda Rincon, says the boy had come to her house to visit her daughter on Saturday. She said she heard a single gunshot, then saw the boy with a look of panic on his face.

Funeral arrangements have not been finalized for V'ondra, who was a student at North Clayton High School. Her mother hopes to raise enough money to bury her daughter in Maryland, the family's home state.
