Chattanooga Police Department officers arrested a man and charged him with aggravated assault and attempted first-degree murder in connection with the shooting Monday night of Jonathan Smith at 3907 15th Ave.

Smith, 32, who was shot in the neck, remains in critical condition at a hospital.

Police arrested Claude Alvin Thomas.

Police say Smith was shot at about 8:37 p.m.
