4 bodies discovered in car off road in northern Alabama

DOUBLE SPRINGS, Ala. - An Alabama sheriff says four bodies discovered in a car on a county road in northern Alabama were adults who were not from his county.

Winston County Sheriff Rick Harris tells The Associated Press that gunshot wounds were found, though he said the cause of their deaths was not yet known.

Harris said the white car has out-of-state tags. He declined to say which state, but said the people found dead inside are not from Winston County. He told the AP early Thursday that all are adults and are a combination of men and women.

A passer-by noticed the vehicle off County Road 327 on her way to work Wednesday morning and called authorities when she saw it in the same place on her way home.

No one was in custody.
