Hotel guest reports being bound, robbed in Atlanta

ATLANTA — Authorities are searching for three suspected robbers after a guest at the Hilton Atlanta downtown told police they broke into his room, tied him up and stole thousands of dollars in cash and jewelry.

WSB-TV reports that the crime happened shortly before 4 a.m. Saturday at the upscale hotel on Courtland Street. The guest said the three men who broke in were armed with guns.

Police said the suspects got away with $7,000 in cash and about $20,000 worth of jewelry.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that the man who was robbed told police that he was a rapper. No further information about him or the crime was immediately available early Monday.
