NASHVILLE - It hasn't been a winning season for the long-successful GPS volleyball program, but it continues after a clutch win Saturday.

Led by Olivia Berger's 24 kills, 21 digs and three blocks, the Bruisers won 3-0 at Brentwood Academy in the first round of the Division II-AA state playoffs, and each set was decided by the minimum two points. GPS, seeded sixth in the East-Middle Region, got past its fifth-seeded host 25-23, 26-24, 26-24 as Reagan Williams had 21 assists and 10 digs, Kelby Crownover made 19 digs and Angela Bonds downed 11 kills.

The Bruisers (21-25) visit the West Region's top seed, St. Agnes, this Saturday in Memphis.

Baylor, the top East/Middle seed, had a first-round bye and will host Briarcrest Christian or Hutchison on Saturday.
