MURFREESBORO — A math teacher at Oakland High School was given a written reprimand Tuesday for accidentally showing a picture of an at least partially nude male from the waist down, according to a Rutherford County Schools official.
Randy McClellan, who has been an Rutherford County School employee since 2002, was attempting to open a file containing math equations from a personal device during an International Baccalaureate math class Monday when the photo appeared on screen instead, according to James Evans, RCS community relations coordinator.
The written reprimand said the following: “This letter will serve as a written reprimand for unintentionally showing an inappropriate photograph in your 6th period class on 10/14/13. Although it was not your intent for the photograph to be displayed, you are personally responsible for the material that is located on your own personal device. Future violations of this type may result in more punitive disciplinary action.”
