Support Crawford In Fort Oglethorpe

Craig Crawford is a hard working, honest, smart and God fearing young man. I have known his father (Larry) and his grandfather (Cecil) all of my life and the apple does not fall far from the tree. You will always find Craig on the right side of every issue.

Vote Nov. 5 to upgrade the Fort Oglethorpe City Council and vote for Craig Crawford.

Benefit denial has no excuse

(Congress): You have failed our military! Dependents of recently deceased service members could not get their survivor’s benefits because of the so-called shutdown. Yes, once it was known Congress started legislation to cover this error — but the harm had been done. The U.S. military lost confidence that their loved ones will be taken care of in the event of their death. Four-hundred thirty-five in the House of Representatives, 100 in the Senate and one in the White House, and no one thought to ensure there were no slip ups like this. Defense is the first responsibility of the federal government and none of the Washington kindergarten did their job. This is a complete management and leadership failure, all are responsible and as such there should be none re-elected next year. As there are no excuses or individual blame for this, do not offer any.

Observing Muslim feast of sacrifice

On Tuesday, Oct. 15, Muslims throughout the world started “the feast of the sacrifice,” which will last for several days. It is the most important feast in the Islamic calendar celebrated after the pilgrimage at Mecca. The Pilgrims gather for communal prayer and the cleric sacrifices an animal, the concluding rite before the Pilgrims leave. In every Muslim community on the morning of the fast the same ritual is performed. The believers return to their homes. Each head of a household sacrifices a sheep, camel or an ox for his family. The sacrifice is performed with the words “Allah is great” and the throat of the animal is cut, both the windpipe and jugular vein in one stroke. The prophet Mohammad instituted the feast in the second year of the Hijra in Medina. The sacrifice of animals is performed with the intention of coming closer to Allah. Christians and Jews do not perform such a feast, which basically was a Jewish tradition. They find closeness to the divine Shepherd through some other ways.

It's interesting to know that Muslim's are as blood-thirsty as Christians. God didn't want those ole' vegetables either, just blood. To believe any of these hedonistic fallacies makes you one sick puppy. And you have the gall to call out other religions for their lunacy.

Fundementalist religions of some prophet's revelations typically have crazed followers. Include Mormons in that bunch.

As you said above, I find it amusing when fundamentalists talk about the wacky beliefs of Scientology and Muslims, but then believe that serpents talked, demons are real, and that dead men walk and fly upward.

There's something about slaughtering a helpless animal that makes a man feel all hot and holy, like he's got a pair.

Particularly if he can scream, "Jehovah, Jesus, or Allah" while doing the deed.

There's nothing like "bloody" religion to get the fundy Bible-Bangers and Q'uran-Quacks in the mood for some blood-letting.

After the mayhem then they claim their religion is about peace.

I'm wondering...is this ritual of animal sacrifice something that even the "moderate" Muslims take part in? If so, then is the only thing that separates a moderate Muslim from a fundamentalist the object of their slaughter? For a moderate it's an animal, but for a fundamentalist it's a human - specifically, the decapitated head of a non-believer? If animal sacrifice gets you "closer to Allah," then killing a human must really get you in his good graces - a one-way ticket to heaven and all those virgins waiting for you! It seems there's not a lot of distinction between a moderate and a fundamentalist Muslim. Either way, their god obviously loves the shedding of blood.

What is it with you Muslims and Christians alike that you think God is actually pleased with blood sacrifice? The primitive people didn't know any better and they honestly believed that blood sacrifice was necessary in order to please their God. But c'mon, folks....use your reasoning faculties that your God gave you. Open your eyes and see how stupid - yes, stupid! - you are being to actually think that the God of the universe is demanding that you kill an animal or shed any blood at all.

As for you Christians, the only way to get to heaven is to believe that the shedding of Jesus' blood was necessary in God's eyes in order to save you from your sins? Blood sacrifice is a relic from the past, a ritual based entirely on myth and superstition. Mature adults ought to know better. There is no excuse for such ignorance.

And you wonder why we non-believers don't respect your beliefs!

Today's TFP has this article about a man in Dunlap who's fighting demons for Jesus, or God, or one of those imaginary deities nobody can see. Of course there's no evidence for demons either.

The demons are all in his head turning Lucifers into greenbacks from the fools who buy his book. What a load of fundy BS!

This is the Bible-Banging Creationism to be taught in schools. Forget math, forget science — it's time for Devils, Demons, and Delusions.

I just now read that article about the demon slayer from Dunlap. He made the comment that "I have no doubt Satan, when you become a Christian [and have] a target on your chest, messes with you a lot more." Simple solution: don't become a Christian, folks! That way you won't fall prey to an imaginary god or make-believe demons either one.

The suckers will be lined up for this joker and his fabrications. Like faith-healing on Sundays, it will be a show of the gullible and ignorant tossing money at the Satan-Slayer.

I hope there will be video of all the demons just in time for Halloween. Perhaps Bigfoot, Dracula, and ET will show up for the photo session too.
