FBI releases suspect description, photos of Wednesday’s bank robber in East Brainerd

The FBI office in Knoxville released still frames from surveillance footage that captured images of a fully covered bank robber Wednedsay morning at the First Tennessee Bank.

The man who was wearing a black ski mask, black gloves, white long sleeved shirt and dark pants and shoes entered the bank where he brandished a semi automatic handgun. He fired two shots into the ceiling before making demands. During the robbery, a bank employee was shot and wounded. The employee suffered minor injuries according to police.

The suspect was between 5 feet 7 inches and 5 feet 9 inches tall, with a stocky build.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Knoxville FBI at 865-544-0751, or Chattanooga police at 698-2525. A reward is being offered for anyone who gives information leading to the arrest of the individual.
