2 people arrested for murder of Smith County woman

CARTHAGE, Tenn. - Authorities have arrested a woman and her boyfriend for the murder of a Smith County woman whose body was discovered along the side of a road.

According to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, Melinda Bush and Stephone Berry, both of Pleasant Shade, have each been charged with one count of first-degree murder for the death of 29-year-old Dawn Duke of Carthage.

Duke's body was found along Thomas Ridge Road on Friday with multiple stab wounds. Bush and Berry were reportedly friends with Duke.

Both were being held in the Smith County Jail on Sunday. Bush's bond was $50,000 and Berry's was $100,000.
