House fire

A family in the Highway 58 area was displaced today as a morning fire destroyed their home.

There were no injuries to members of the Rosella Beckman family, whose home at 7418 Woodland Bay Drive was consumed by flames this morning.

Beckman reported that her family awoke to the smell of smoke and found parts of their home on fire this morning.

They escaped without injury and the family is now staying with family members.

Damages were estimated at $300,000.

The family reported there had been a fire in the fireplace before going to bed.

The Highway 58 Volunteer Fire Department had responded to a call about the fire and worked to prevent the fire from spreading to adjacent houses after discovering that the house was fully affected by the fire.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

The Highway 58 VFD was assisted by Tri-Community VFD, Hamilton County EMS and Hamilton County Sheriff's Office.
