Tennessee man charged with robbing trucks of cigarettes

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A Tennessee man has been arrested on suspicion that he robbed two delivery trucks and took more than $10,000 worth of cigarettes.

The Commercial Appeal reported that 25-year-old Filipe Towner faces two counts of aggravated robbery and two counts of theft of property between $1,000 and $10,000. He is being held on $150,000 bond.

Memphis police say the robberies happened Oct. 9 and Oct. 18. Police say in both cases, Towner and others threatened a delivery truck driver as he unloaded cargo at a store.

It's uncertain if anyone else has been arrested yet.

Jail records did not list an attorney for Towner.
