Works by John Stone at AVA - Nov. 1

An opening reception for "Some of Them Are Dead. Most of Them Are Not. All of Them Are Living: Works by John Stone" is scheduled 5:30-8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 1, at the AVA Gallery, 30 Frazier Ave. Stone earned this solo show of recent works, which include "Chuck and Bay" and "Brother and Dad," above, from left, by winning Best in Show in the Association for Visual Arts' 2012 Juried Members Exhibitions. The paintings originated as photographs relating to friends and family members, Stone says. The exhibition continues through Saturday, Nov. 30. Gallery hours are 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday.
