The Chattanooga Transportation Department has announced that parts of Cowart and Chestnut streets will be closed for utility work beginning today.

The department said the 1400 block of Cowart will be closed for two days. The block will reopen by 4 p.m. Wednesday. Detours will be posted.

The 1800 block of Chestnut closing will span three days with the reopening set for Thursday by 4 p.m. Detours will also be posted.
