Atlanta man sentenced for pimping teenage girl

ATLANTA - Fulton County District Attorney's officials say a man has been sentenced to life in prison for pimping and imprisoning a teenage girl.

District Attorney's spokeswoman Yvette Jones says 34-year-old Dwayne Shaw was sentenced Monday on charges of human trafficking, pimping, pandering, aggravated sodomy, child molestation and more in connection with the exploitation of a 15-year-old girl.

Jones says Shaw met the victim online. The two met in person in November 2012 and Jones says Shaw lured her into a life of prostitution. Shaw scheduled meetings with men at local hotels and pocketed all the money she was paid.

The girl was found at Shaw's southwest Atlanta home after four days thanks to text messages she sent to relatives.

Officials say Shaw raped the girl and barricaded her in the attic.
