The Chattanooga Fire Department reports that a fire this morning at a duplex at 1802 South Kelley St. is under investigation as to how it started.
Capt. Anthony Moore of the fire investigation division said the fire was on the "A" of the duplex.
A news release said three people in the unit at the time the fire was discovered got out safely. The resident of the other duplex also was unharmed.
Firefighters quickly put out the blaze.
The damage was estimated at $40,000, the release said.
