MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Federal prosecutors say 16 Memphis residents have been charged with being part of a drug distribution conspiracy.

The U.S. attorney's office in Memphis says the 16 were indicted Tuesday on charges of conspiring to possess and distribute cocaine.

Officials said 14 of the defendants had been arrested as of Wednesday.

During the arrests, authorities seized about 10 guns, night vision goggles, body armor and about 125,000 in cash.

The investigation was conducted in conjunction with prosecutors in Memphis as part of the Department of Justice's Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force Program.
