Dalton, Ga., police looking for alleged purse thieves

Dalton, Ga., police are looking for two suspects in the Sept. 6 theft of a woman’s purse at Kroger on West Walnut Avenue.

According to a Dalton Police Department release, a female shopper at Kroger was asked for help reading something by an unknown man.

While “the victim was distracted,” police say, “a black female took the victim’s wallet from her purse which was sitting in her shopping cart.”

The couple then allegedly “reunited” outside the store and spent over $4,500 with the woman’s stolen credit cards at Dalton retail stores in less than an hour.

Dalton police are asking anyone with information to call Officer Aaron Simpson at 706-278-9085, extension 253.
