Woman bites intruder who entered her Bradley County home while she slept

The Bradley County Sheriff's Office has reported it is seeking information about a sexual assault that took place Friday night when a man entered the home of a woman as she slept at her home on Wilkinson Road.

She was attacked by the man when she investigated a noise she heard in her house.

Capt. David Shoemaker of the criminal investigations division said the woman described her attacker as being white, approximately six -foot to six- foot and four inches tall with a slender build.

Shoemaker said the woman resisted her attacker and inflicted noticeable injuries to the suspect with bite marks and scratches.

“We are vigorously pursing the assailant and will continue working around the clock checking leads that were developed during the weekend. The suspect’s DNA was collected from the scene of the crime and has been submitted to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation for analysis,” Shoemaker said.

“We are asking for anyone who knows of a male of the same size and build who in the last few days incurred injuries of the nature described above to contact the criminal investigations tip line at 423-728-7336,” Shoemaker said.

A reward is being offered for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the assailant, a news release said.
