Police: Nurse stabbed at hospital in Huntsville, Ala., by patient

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Police say a nurse will recover after being stabbed while treating a patient at Huntsville Hospital overnight.

Authorities say a patient who was attempting to remove their I.V. line became combative when a nurse intervened.

WAFF-TV reports that the patient took out a pocket knife and stabbed the nurse in the side of her head.

The nurse was treated in the emergency room with injuries that aren't life-threatening.

Police say the patient is in the hospital for a surgical procedure and will be charged later.

Authorities haven't released the names of the nurse or patient.
