EMS station opens on donated land
Hamilton County Emergency Medical Services celebrated the completion and opening of the new EMS Station 1. The new station houses Medic 1, staffed by at least one paramedic and one EMT per shift. The property was donated to Hamilton County for a fire and ambulance station by Jim Berry. Station 1 is located at 10918 Highway 58 and answers on average 1,000 calls per year.
The original station was built in 1988 on Career Lane (south end of the district), was not cost efficient and was poorly insulated. The new station is five miles north of the old station and is in the center of the district. The district covers Birchwood, Snow Hill, Meadowview and other sections of northern Hamilton County north of Wolftever Creek.
