ATLANTA - Authorities say an off-duty Atlanta police officer was held at gunpoint and then carjacked at a traffic light.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that the crime happened around 3 a.m. Sunday on North Avenue at Argonne Avenue.

Atlanta police spokesman Officer John Chafee said the suspect walked to the officer's vehicle and pointed a handgun at him. The suspect demanded the officer's phone and ordered him to leave his vehicle.

Police later located the vehicle - as well as a pistol the officer had inside it - near the corner of Freemont and Adelle streets.

The suspect remains at large.
