Chattanooga fire victim dies at Augusta, Ga., burn center

The elderly man who was severely burned in a house fire on Kemp Drive on Tuesday has died.

Chattanooga Fire Department spokesman Bruce Garner said Andrew Broomfield, 86, died about 2 p.m. Thursday at the Joseph M. Still Burn Center in Augusta, Ga.

He said Broomfield had second- and third-degree burns to about 70 percent of his body.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
