Red Bank Police reported detectives have obtained a warrant for first-degree murder for Glenda Forrest, 63, in the stabbing death of her brother, 65-year-old Donald Barnes.

A release from the police department said early this morning they had responded to a requested "welfare check" at 628 Lullwater Road.

A family member said he had received a call from his cousin Forrest, telling him she had killed her brother and wanted to assure that someone would care for her dogs.

Officers could hear a woman shouting inside when they arrived at the address, but she didn't answer the door.

The release said they forced their way inside where they found Forrest on a bed bleeding from what was thought to be self-inflected stab wounds to her abdomen.

A search of the residence led officers to find Barnes in a back bedroom where he had been stabbed multiple times and was pronounced dead there.

The brother and sister lived at the Lullwater Road address, police said.
