The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga announced the hiring of a new Vice Chancellor for Development and Alumni Affairs and Executive Director of the UC Foundation Monday.
Bryan Rowland, currently the president of New Capital Strategies, will assume the role June 26.
From 2008-10 Rowland was president of the Wright State University Foundation in Ohio where UTC Chancellor Steve Angle worked as a provost and professor from 2007-12 and then as a senior vice president from 2012-13.
“Bryan’s fundraising experience and passion for higher education are a great fit with UTC and the Chattanooga community,” Angle said in a news release.
Rowland has also worked in fundraising at the University of Arizona and Longwood University during a 20-year career in higher education. He received a doctorate in education leadership and policy studies from Virginia Tech.
“My family and I are very happy to be joining the team at UTC,” Rowland said in the release. “The campus is alive with teaching, research, creativity and achievement and Chattanooga is a great community with a long history of philanthropic support for its university.”
Pat Branam has been serving as the interim vice chancellor for development and alumni affairs and executive director of the UC Foundation.
