Georgia man fatally struck by train identified

ROME, Ga. — Authorities in northwest Georgia say they've identified a man who was fatally struck by a train.

Deputy Floyd County Coroner Ernie Studard tells the Rome News-Tribune police used fingerprints to identify 40-year-old Lanny Shane Huckaby after the crash Tuesday evening.

Major Mark Wallace of the county police department says crew aboard the train told authorities the man was walking along the track and didn't move from the train's path after it sounded its horn.
