Schedule announced for 2014 Nightfall concert series in Chattanooga

Chattanooga Presents, the organizers of the Nightfall summer concert series, have announced the schedule for this year's season.

Nightfall is known for presenting a wide range of musical talents from a myriad of genres, and this year is no exception, says Chattanooga Presents executive director Carla Pritchard.

"I think we've done a good job this year of maintaining a broad variety of music," she says. "We want to be able to feature bands from around the world.

"That's one of the trademarks of Nightfall, to reach beyond the boundaries of what you normally hear in Chattanooga, and as long as we feel like we're introducing new music to this live market, that's a good thing."

This year's season will begin May 2 and will continue weekly every Friday through to Aug. 29. In a continuation of a scheduling experiment last year, the series will continue unabated during this year's Riverbend festival with concerts on June 6 and 13.

"We felt like that went over pretty well last year," Pritchard says. "We got rain the first week, which didn't make it easy to accurately gauge its success, but the second week felt like a normal Nightfall. There's room in this community for lots of good music."
