BUTLER, Tenn. - The Tennessee Highway Patrol says a woman whose body was found in a car in Watauga Lake on Monday has been identified as 81-year-old Juanita G. Ramsey, of Chuckey.

THP spokesman Sgt. Bill Miller told the Johnson City Press (http://bit.ly/1j4BFCr) investigators believe Ramsey was driving south on state Route 167 when she failed to stop at a stop sign, slid through a gravel parking lot and went down a 60-foot embankment into the lake. She traveled another 75 feet into the lake and the car was submerged in 11 feet of water.

Ramsey was wearing a seat belt and investigators do not believe alcohol or drugs were involved.

Miller said more information on the investigation would be available later.
