2 arrested in DeKalb theft, drug cases

Sheriff's deputies in DeKalb County, Ala., made two arrests on April 3.

Steve Strickland, 46, of Fyffe, was arrested after officers followed up on information dealing with theft of property in the Henagar area. Strickland was found in possession of the stolen property and was charged with receiving stolen property in the first degree and theft of property in the first degree.

Strickland is awaiting bond at the DeKalb County Detention Center. More charges may be added as the investigation continues.

Additionally, sheriff's deputies and drug task force agents arrested Gary Anthony Plemons, 245, of Ider, after a traffic stop revealed drugs and drug paraphernalia in his vehicle. Plemons is awaiting bond at the county detention center, and has been charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
