Chattanooga area residents should be on the lookout for possible severe weather moving through Southeast Tennessee this morning, according to the National Weather Service.
A strong upper-level storm system is expected to move into the area, bringing damaging winds and hail as large as an inch to an inch and a half. There is a slight possibility of isolated tornados, National Weather Service forecasters said Thursday night. Rainfall amounts are not expected to be high.
The area could see scattered thunderstorms this morning, but the best chance for thunderstorms and severe weather is this afternoon, they said.
