The family of the boy who was injured in a water incident last Sunday at Pocket Wilderness in Soddy-Daisy is reporting that he has died.

William Smith, 4, passed away in the hospital Saturday afternoon. The boy's father, Tony, has been keeping a Facebook page updated with information on Will's condition since the accident last week.

"I do not know how to begin this post. William passed away this afternoon. It has been and will continue to be an incredible journey. The miracle we received is not what we wanted. But the power of your prayers resonate still. Will received the ultimate healing today and many others including myself stand in awe at the power if prayer surrounding thus incredible life. He has graciously offered up his life and in the processes 8 people have the potential for new life. Will is an organ donor and for this who know him, know that he was really good at sharing. God bless you all. This page will continue in the hopes of sharing and building on the love he would want us all to share," Tony Smith posted late Saturday afternoon.
