WINTER PARK, Fla. — The SUV driver accused of causing a crash at a Florida day care that killed a 4-year-old girl has been arrested.

Twenty-eight-year old Robert Alex Corchado turned himself in to police, who charged him with leaving the scene of a deadly accident. The Orange County Corrections Department says he's being held on $100,000 bond.

Police say Corchado crashed into another motorist, who in turn smashed into the day care center Wednesday, killing the girl and injuring 14 others. Ten people remain hospitalized.

Corchado has a lengthy criminal history. His attorney confirmed he turned himself in but declined to comment further.

Police had been searching for Corchado for almost a full day.
