Chattanooga Lookouts win 1-0 on ninth-inning run

KODAK, Tenn. — The Chattanooga Lookouts won 1-0 on the road against the Tennessee Smokies on Thursday afternoon.

Ozzie Martinez's two-out single to left field in the top of the ninth inning scored Casio Grider with the game's only run as Chattanooga improved to 3-4 in the Southern League season.

Jon Garcia had a one-out single to left before Grider was inserted as a pinch-runner. Grider stole second and advanced to third on an O'Koyea Dickson flyout to center.

Lookouts starting pitcher Tyson Brummett, making his season debut, allowed one hit in four innings and was followed by Craig Stem, Mike Thomas and Pedro Baez in relief.

Game three of the five-game series is tonight at 7:15. Chris Reed (0-1, 0.00 ERA) is the scheduled starting pitcher for the Lookouts, with Corey Black (0-0, 9.00) scheduled for the Smokies.
