Tennessee Smokies smoke Chattanooga Lookouts

Ozzie Martinez singled to right to score Jeremy Hazelbaker in the second inning to give Chattanooga (3-7) a 1-0 lead, but Tennessee responded with six quick runs and breezed to an 8-2 victory Sunday.

Lookouts starter Garrett Gould retired two of the first three Smokies he faced in the second but then allowed a walk to John Andreoli, a two-run double to right by Wes Darvill, an RBI single to left by Matt Loosen, a two-run home run to right by Zeke DeVoss and a homer to Stephen Bruno.

Game one of a five-game series against Jacksonville at AT&T Field is tonight at 7:15.

Carlos Frias (0-1, 3.27) is scheduled to start for the Lookouts, with Anthony DeSciafani (2-0, 3.75) scheduled for the Suns.

Also on Sunday, infielder Angelo Songco was released Sunday by the Los Angeles Dodgers organization. Taking his spot on the roster is outfielder Brian Cavazos-Galvez.
