“We are able to get plants from all over the country and have the best selection of bedding plants to be found,” said owner Tim Holcomb. “We have several chosen growers that meet our standards of performing well in our area, are well-rooted and have good start blooms for customer appeal.”

Holcomb emphasized that quality and ability to perform well locally are the two standards the

established garden center strives to offer customers in its products and plants.

For those looking to get their gardens going, Holcomb also has a great selection of seeds geared

for the area. Gardeners will recognize local growers such as the Mayo Seed Co. of Knoxville and others that offer large quantity packs, giving planters the most bang for their buck.

“Our seeds range from perennials, annuals, herbs, vegetables, flowers, wildflowers and more,” Holcomb said. “We pride ourselves in our selection and our knowledge we can share with customers about planting and gardening.

Indeed, as you browse your way through the store, it’s not uncommon to hear Holcomb and his colleagues fielding calls from customers asking for tips and advice on their plants and gardens both in store and over the phone. Holcomb added that the staff also encourages people to sign up for weekly emails that come out on Thursdays offering tips, tricks and timelines for what needs to happen next in the planting season.

“The nice thing about perennials is you plant them once and get to enjoy them for several years,” said Holcomb.

The local garden center has everything in this category from hostas to Knockout roses and hardy ferns.
