Man shot on Willow Street

Chattanooga police are investigating a shooting that took place on the 200-300 block of North Willow Street.

At about 4:23 p.m. officers responding to call about a person shot found a black male who had been shot once in the abdomen. The victim was taken to a local hospital and rushed to surgery.

Neighbors and witnesses said that the victim appeared to have just gotten off of the bus when the shooting began, and he appeared to be wearing a work uniform.

The investigation is ongoing. Police have no suspect information at this time, and ask that anyone with information regarding the shooting call 423-698-2525 or Crime Stoppers at 423-698-3333.
