TN jobless rate for March drops to 6.7 percent

Tennessee Labor & Workforce Development Commissioner Burns Phillips has announced that Tennessee preliminary unemployment rate for March was 6.7 percent, two-tenths of one percentage point lower than the 6.9 percent February revised rate.

Tennessee March rate was equal to the national rate for the same month.

Over the past year, Tennessee's unemployment rate decreased from 8.3 percent to 6.7 percent while the national rate declined from 7.5 percent to 6.7 percent.
