U.S. Rep. Chuck Fleischmann, R-Tenn., met with local mayors and municipal officials today to discuss ways the federal government can help with local issues.
This was the second time Fleischmann has called a so-called mayors roundtable at the Electric Power Board building at the corner of M.L. King Boulevard and Market Street.
Topics included future funding of the stalled Chickamauga Lock project, student loan debt relief and federal funding for local law enforcement.
Fleischmann said he was ready to help, but federal spending must be controlled before locals see much financial help.
