Woman's body pulled from north Georgia lake

WALESKA, Ga. — Police are investigating how a woman died after her body was pulled from a north Georgia lake.

Cherokee County deputies were called to Lake Arrowhead shortly before 8 p.m. Monday after a boater spotted the body floating in the water. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that Cherokee County sheriff's Lt. Jay Baker said divers with the county's fire department removed the body about two hours later.

The woman was identified as 70-year-old Cindy Naterman of Waleska.

An autopsy was scheduled for today.

Lake Arrowhead is about 45 miles northwest of Atlanta.
