Chattanooga closing some streets for special events this weekend

The Chattanooga Transportation Department has announced some streets will be closed this weekend for special events.

Among the closings are:

— Reggie White Boulevard from the entrance to the Skate Park to Riverfront Parkway, West 19th Street from Chestnut Street to Reggie White Boulevard, West Main Street between Broad Street and Carter Street, the inside lanes of Riverfront Parkway from Chestnut Street to Molly Lane, and the right lane of southbound Broad Street from Main Street to West 26th Street will be closed Saturday from 8 to 11 a.m. for the Oral Cancer Foundation Awareness Run.

— St Elmo Avenue between Old Mountain Road and Tennessee Avenue will be closed Saturday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. for the St. Elmo Spring Fling.

— An officer will be directing traffic on East Main Street at Rossville Avenue Saturday from 5 to 8 p.m. for Palate to Palette.

— Reggie White Boulevard between West 19th Street and the entrance to the Skate Park will be closed Sunday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. for the Chattanooga Market.

— One southbound lane of Broad Street between West Fifth and West Sixth Street will be closed Monday and Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. for Change for Change.
